Annual Cabin Outting

Last Friday after school we hurried away for our night at the cabin.  We've been doing this since our first year in the area.  We had a hard time reserving one this year.  I suspect that with our crappy winter and lack of snow, more people are looking for a way outdoors.  In the log book at the cabin, there were people mentioning they were down from Anchorage.

We ordered pizza the night before and brought leftovers for an easy dinner.  It tasted amazing being reheated on the wood stove.
Then we had a surprise of astronaut ice cream for dessert.
The top bunks were all the rage/anxiety producer this trip.  J had no problem getting up and down.  M learned about three hours in that she could get up and down as well.  I spent a good deal of time spotting and standing near the bunks.

Lovin the love!
So cute!  Check out her pulled up socks that look more like legwarmers.

Seriously so weird to that there's no snow and it rained a little overnight.

The ice was at least a foot and a half thick, but it was a little eerie walking back in the puddles on the way back.  The kids loved riding the camel aka sled on the way back.  Thanks to the ice it wasn't a problem at all to pull for D.
This collage pic is from our first trip to a cabin back in 2010.  The little guy has grown a bit!
