Togiak Tower

We called this tower the water tower. If you look closely you'll see that our boat is tied off to it. In order to not wear waders all the time I had to learn how to nose the boat up to the tower, leave the motor running and walk the length of the boat to tie it up to the tower. Then I would turn the motor off and climb up to count.

Not too shabby a view from the ridge near our cabins. If you click on the picture you can get a better shot of the buildings we lived in.

D saw this impressive caribou a couple days before he left the tower. It was all alone. Normally caribou hang out in herds.

D saw three adult bears while he was on the Togiak River. If you click on this picture you'll see a sow and two cubs.
