Surprise!

After our trip to Denali National Park with D's folks, D surprised me with a two night getaway to Seldovia while G & G cared for the kiddos. Evidently D had been planning a 10 year anniversary (can you believe it?) trip for the last nine months. As we were driving into Kenai, we were discussing J's soccer practice and directions to the field. I questioned why D was telling his parents where to go when I figured we'd all be going. Then he surprised me with the news that we'd be going somewhere. We headed home and packed. Then we got in the car and drove what seemed to me to be aimlessly. We had dinner and then eventually headed to Homer. I was pretty pleased with this since Homer is an awesome place to spend a few days. We hung out in Homer for a few hours and then we drove to the airport! From there our final destination was revealed and we headed across Kachemak Bay to Seldovia. We stayed in a little B & B and hiked, hung out with our friend Simon, and played a lot of cribbage. The weather was awesome and it was nice to have our own schedule.
