Beaver Round Up

This past weekend was our big festival here in D'ham. It's called Beaver Round Up and traditionally it's when the trappers come back to D'ham and sell their furs. Now it's turned into everything from imitating game shows such as Deal or No Deal, lots of opportunities for Bingo, Native Arts and Crafts, snowmachine racing, and dog mushing. It's a super fun weekend. This year we really lived it up going to just about everything we could.

We played Bingo with the couple that is buying our house. In what other situation would you hang out with the people buying your house? In between B11 being called we discussed how they'd get their new couch in the house.

We also watched our friend Clint (he's in the first picture) mush in a race for the first time. I love how that picture turned out. D gets the photo credit for all the pictures. It was too cold for me to shed the mittens.

A and Z we were thinking about you and how you were here last year during this time. The Iditarod just started yesterday.




Check out that dog's tongue! The musher is John Hanson. He wrestled against D's wrestlers from a village upriver.
