Here's the view from my classroom window earlier this week. I have never seen the snow drifted this high before. The only way you can see out if you're a second grader is by stepping on a chair. One of my students came in Monday morning and immediately remarked that we wouldn't be able to see the hares that hop about and constantly distract us. I hadn't thought of that. I was cheering inside thinking how less distracted they'd be this week and envisioning all the lessons that would go on uninterrupted. It's now Friday and the snow has recessed a bit and now you can see out again. It was a nice, but too short hiatus from the hares.
Our friend Cody is back in town. You can see him pictured here with our mountain of snow in front of our house. He's been in New Zealand since October. He's the best storyteller and it's been nice to have him around again.

This is probably our last family pic in front of the house. It's crazy how much snow we have piled up.
