What would you change?

So we are doing a little construction this summer. We are building a large garage with a second story that is going to be an apartment that we plan on renting in the short term and maybe living in in the future (about 18 years). Here is the floor plan that we have drawn up please give us feedback on what you like and what you would change.  You can click on the floor plan to make it bigger.
