Dolly Varden Cabin with friends

We just got back from a night at a refuge cabin on a lake about an hour from our house. We went with our neighbors/tenants and their two children. They are 4 and 6. J loves playing with both of them. We feel lucky to have them right next door.

It was really warm in the lower 30s.  We've had weather into the 40s the past week.  It's very unseasonable.

M should be in a Patagonia catalog.  This stuff really does fit the bill for our winters.  We try hard not to pay full price.  We got the cap on Steep and Cheap.  Check it out if you like deals on outdoor gear.

Dinner!

This isn't the first time I've gotten in with M to help get her to sleep when we've been out and about.  The first time I did this camping it was a last ditch effort.  After all I'm sure I exceed the weight recommendation.  Anyway, last night I got in right away when she was kind of riled up and she fell asleep probably within 10 minutes and slept soundly until 4:30, her usual wake up time.  She even slept through snoring, kids waking up and the sound of the adults stoking the fire and opening the windows because it was too hot.  The trick is getting out without her waking up.  D took this picture the next day.
