Best Laid Plans

As Jamie and I were putting the finishing touches on J's cake this morning, D called me and said that M's cold seemed to be more than just a cold.  She now had a fever.  It looked like we'd either be canceling J's party or postponing it.  Since the cake was made and everything was ready to go, we just decided to have a low-key family birthday (with Jamie) ending with a visit to all the party goers houses to drop off cake and goodie bags.  Before Jamie could enjoy the festivities with us, she was planning on visiting their new puppy that's too young to leave his mother and she asked if J wanted to join her.  Of course he did!!  I can't think of anything cuter than a boy and puppies!  He loved them.
